Requirement
It was important for the care home provider that their existing refrigeration systems, particularly the temperature-controlled storage areas in the canteens, remained in good condition all year round to keep ingredients, meat and fruit and veg fresh.
Outcome
Cold Control has worked with the care home provider for several years, servicing and maintaining their refrigeration systems across a number of their sites. In 2019, Cold Control was appointed as the care home provider’s sole contractor to provide pre-planned and reactive maintenance services for 7 of their care home centres across the south.
Each care home had different refrigeration systems, which meant Cold Control had to treat each centre individually to provide the most cost-effective maintenance solutions that suited that particular site’s requirements and budget.
All 7 care home centres benefit from bi-annual servicing for their existing refrigeration equipment, which includes general maintenance of the units to ensure optimum performance, checking of refrigerant levels and cleanliness.
Alongside the ongoing maintenance service, Cold Control is also on standby 24 hours a day for emergency breakdown and repairs to ensure minimal disruption to meal preparations. Where system parts are deemed beyond repair, Cold Control is on hand to source and install replacements when required.
